How Our Weekly Auction Works
To provide the best possible bidding experience, we’ve updated our auction format. Here’s what you need to know:

One Auction. Two Closing Days.
Encore Auctions now hosts one weekly auction featuring approximately 30,000 items.To make bidding easier and more convenient, the auction closes over two days:
- Lots begin closing Sunday and finish on Monday; check hours on our website.
This is a timed online-only auction, with lots closing sequentially at the posted start times.
- Starting Bids
All lots now have a starting bid of $1.50. - One invoice will be issued after the auction closes on Monday, including all items won across both closing days.

Proxy (Max) Bidding
Proxy bidding is allowed. Enter the maximum amount you’re willing to pay. The system will automatically bid on your behalf only as needed. Depending on other bidders, your maximum bid may become the final winning price, plus the buyer’s premium, handling fee, and applicable taxes. -
Item Selection
Our weekly auction features approximately 20,000 customer-returned and overstock items from major online retailers.To keep our auctions efficient, some lower-value items may occasionally be bundled together. Limited exceptions may apply.

About Us
Payment & Pickup Policy Updates
- Manual Credit Card Payments: We will no longer automatically charge credit cards after the auction. If you choose to pay by credit card, a 2% processing fee will apply.
- Restocking Fees for Unpaid Orders: Any unpaid orders after the pickup deadline will incur a restocking fee equal to our buyer’s premium + seller’s commission.
- No More Curbside Pickup: Customers will now enter the building to pay and pick up their orders. We will have testing stations available for those who wish to check their items before leaving.
- Extended Pickup Window: You now have 5 days to pick up your items following the auction!
- Shipping Requests & Payment Deadline: Shipping requests must be submitted within 48 hours of the auction closing, and payment must be received within this timeframe. Requests not completed on time will be considered late, and items will be deemed abandoned. The card on file will be charged starting Tuesday at 9:00 AM (ET).
